Imagine yourself playing alongside with the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan, and you always looked up to him. Well to me, thats how I felt with this photosession. This session will probably become the most memorable milestone in my beginning career as a photographer because I’ve had the greatest opportunity to assist and shoot with the one and only Oly Ruiz of Metrophoto.

Before I really got into shooting weddings, I followed Oly’s blog and how I deeply admired his work. I thank my beautiful fiancĂ©, Mona, for hooking us up. It was during early March, at that time when the annual WPPI Convention was being held again in Las Vegas. The timing was just right. Mona somehow, miraculously, was able to invite Oly to meet and have dinner with us. Mona and I didn’t have any plans in attending the WPPI nor did that ever crossed our minds. Until Oly posted a tweet that he was going to the WPPI. We didn’t hesitate, so we flew to Las Vegas only to meet with this awesome dude. haha! At the same period of time, he was going to be in the South California area for a week to do a shoot and was looking for an assistant–that assistant eventually became me. We’re hiring him to shoot our Wedding, because Mona is in-love with his work.

I am just so very thankful. Thankful to Mona and Oly and especially The One above us. I’ve learned so much in a span of one week while I was with Oly–actually, the very first day of shooting, so many information I’ve already grasp. So I am very thankful of him for taking me as his student. haha! Thanks pare! Anyways, enough of my babbling. haha. Enjoy the engagement session of Marvin and Madel (Such beautiful, friendly, and totally awesome couple). Check out the OFFICAL photos by Oly Ruiz//Metrophoto. (Which is 20x better than mine, btw! lol)

Some behind the scenes I shot of Oly.

Marvin not afraid to leap over any obstacles, despite the bums nearby trying to scare him. Oly eventually followed after a while of convincing himself that it was an easy jump to the next platform. haha.

Look at this guy. Crazy balancing skills. hahaha. Maybe thats how he gets those crazy angles in his shots. Flexibility FTW! =D

Super awesome group shot, one to remember. Courtesy of Metrophotography.
